Associated Geologic Features:

The mid atlantic ridge separates the Eurasian Plate and North American Plate in the North Atlantic. The ridge in about 2,500 meters below sea level. a divergent boundary exists between two tectonic plates that are moving away from each other. When a divergent boundary occurs beneath oceanic lithosphere, the rising convection current below lifts the lithosphere producing a mid-ocean ridge.
